Natural Dye Foraging Walk

  • Castlehill Heritage Centre Harbour Road Thurso, Scotland, KW14 8TG United Kingdom (map)

Join amazing Amanda Greig Williamson with Natures Path Natural Ways for a walk around enchanting coastline in the village of Castletown. You will learn how the plants that you walk past every day can be a magnificent source of pigments for dyeing fibers or fabrics, as well as be used as food or medicine.

Our foraging walk is scheduled on the nearest weekend to Summer Solstice, the time when all plants reach their fullest potential, hence this is the best time for foraging and collecting natural materials.

Our meeting point will be a beautiful Castlehill Heritage Centre from where we will proceed for our walk.

Please make sure that you wear appropriate footwear and layers to protect from the elements, ticks and other insects during our walk. It is advisable to have your repellent of choice.

Children are welcome for this event, if accompanied by responsible adult.
