To help you design a perfect logo, let’s think what logos are.
As Wikipedia defines it, a logo (abbreviation of logotype; from Ancient Greek λόγος (lógos) 'word, speech', and τύπος (túpos) 'mark, imprint') is a graphic mark, emblem, or symbol used to aid and promote public identification and recognition. It may be of an abstract or figurative design or to include the text of the name that it represents as in a wordmark.
Great logo is simple, and easily recognizable.
Think of logos that you see every day:
One does not need to be an artist to be able to design a smashing logo. It is your creativity and eye for the detail that counts.
Think of the task. Our logo will be printed on the transparent lid of a food container. Hence, it won’t be too big, and any small details will be lost.
You are free to play with the colour, however, look around - all great logos are very laconic and made in solid colours :)
To give you a starting point, below are the logos of:
Thurso Community Development Trust, the organization that leads on #beasolution movement,
Highland Community Waste Partnership, that funds this campaign and, of course,
National Lottery Community Fund, that provided grant moneys for us to be able to do great things fighting waste in our communities!
Feel free to use any elements of these logotypes in your creative process, and may the best man win!
