Waste2Art Contest
18 March 2024 - 22 April 2024
Art always finds straight path to people’s hearts. Art impacts us strongly and touches on so many strings of our souls. This contest is about bringing creativity and climate action together.
Let’s think waste! Let’s use waste materials as a source of inspiration, to create a whole exhibition of pieces of art, to remind ourselves and others about how wasteful our lifestyle is. Let’s use our artistic voice to raise awareness and call for action.
You are free to use any type of waste material (please avoid food waste and any other perishable waste materials) and work in any technique that resonates best with you. Think a dress made of used plastic bags, a sculpture from tins and cans, a mosaic made from bottle lids - the only limits are the limits of your imagination!
The deadline to submit your art installation is 22 April 2024.
To submit your art installation, please fill in the contact form below.
Who can participate: everyone!
Prize: Winner - 20 points on your individual score and onto your House score and prize of £20.
2nd and 3rd place - 10 points to your individual score and onto your House score and a prize of £10.
Sources for Inspiration
To get your imagination going, below are some examples of art objects that were made from various types of waste, and various techniques were used.
There are so many more ways to feature waste in art, these are just few instances out of endless options.
