FREE PERIOD PRODUCTS

We believe that period products should be available to all, free of charge. In the words of one of our very wise Board Members from the Thurso Community, “You wouldn’t expect to go into a public toilets and find no toilet paper, period products should be the same.” Well, we all know that isn’t quite true always about a public convenience but we do still complain as we expect there to be some.

Period products are a basic human right. We’ve for a long time stocked them at the Sharing Shed but will now also be making them freely available at our Harbour Toilets and in a basket in Socially Growing. Scotland is the first country in the world to pass legislation for period products to be free of charge in public buildings. We are here to serve the community, so only right we do the same.
