Climate Fair 2023
On 16 September, Thurso Precinct Street turned into the center of climate action, with representatives of environmental agencies, community organizations and local big and small businesses sharing their stories on the path to be more sustainable, circular and environmentally friendly.
With the focus on localism, our participants prepared their excellent displays, demonstrating abundance of great resources, products and opportunities available to Thurso community just on their doorstep.
We couldn’t be luckier with the weather on the day, and Precinct was buzzing with locals and visitors all day, checking the stalls and chatting with our participants.

Surveys, quizes, discussions, test drives, tastings, and just great talks - so many exciting and engaging activities we had during the day!
Our Climate Fair was completed with a small concert with some brilliant performances by our amazing local musicians.
Pentland Brass Band created enchanting romantic atmosphere in Precinct. They were followed by performance of our youngest participant - piper Finlay who received very warm welcome from both the audience and his fellow musicians. The climax of the day was absolutely cracking performance of Thurso and District Strathspey and Reel Society! They invited all spectators and passers-by to join in the ‘Strip The Willow’ dance which turned into absolutely brilliant flesh-mob, and the entire street got filled with music, laughter and joy.
