Our vision for Thurso is for the town to be celebrated as a connected community, a beautiful and thriving place which has a strong social purpose and a spirit of wellbeing for all. A place where all members and sections of the community are encouraged to think big an contribute to local decision making. An ambitious, creative, healthy, empowered and environmentally sustainable place with a thriving local economy and community facilities which create an extraordinary and secure legacy for future generations.
Our Values
Our core aim is to make Thurso a better place to live, work and visit through sustainable community led development. We mean what we say with that, every project, initiative and development has grown out of the expressed needs of our Thurso Community. We have a core set of values which underpin everything we do and how we connect with our community.
Our Community
Thurso is the most Northern Town on the Scottish Mainland. We are a community with many challenges being this far north but also having a big heart and tremendous sense of community spirit. Where there are challenges we work together to overcome them.
Our Work
We carry out a number of projects throughout Thurso, each one of them designed and developed to meet the expressed needs of our community. We carry out widespread and frequent community engagement work to discover these needs and have shaped each of our projects to be sustainable and increase resilience and empowerment in the community.
