Craft a Climate Critter

  • Thurso Community Development Trust 1 Rotterdam Street Thurso, Scotland, KW14 8AA United Kingdom (map)

We need you to craft some climate critters for us!

Thanks to a wonderful idea from the lovely Su Edwards and Jackie Phares, we want to spread information about the importance of insects and bugs in relation to the climate. We all need bugs for us to live - from bees and bugs that pollinate to make our fruit and veg grow to lady bugs that keep the aphids at bay, we need them to survive.

Throughout the climate festival there will be a red herring competition where we will be asking shops to hide a critter somewhere in their window for people to find, so we need lots of crafted bugs to display. Make your bugs out of anything you want, the only rule is that they must be approximately 10 x 25cm in size.

If you’re making a bug for us, please drop it off to Socially Growing anytime between now and Wednesday 22nd June. If you’d like your creating back at the end of the festival please pop your name with it or on it somewhere. They’ll be available to pick up from Wednesday 6th July.

Below are some examples of what has been made so far.
