Love Local Cook Local Campaign 2023
For the entire month of September 2023 we are running Love Local Cook Local Campaign, to support local hospitality businesses which cook from local produce.
The following fantastic restaurants and cafes, located in Thurso and Scrabster, joined this campaign:
It may be easier and cheaper to do bulk shopping from wholesale corporations and supermarket chains, but participants of our campaign choose to go into effort of supporting local farmers, growers and foragers.
As a result, we are served delicious and nutritious dishes from fresh and high-quality products, and we, as a community, help sustaining our local small businesses who grow food for us.
Thus, carbon footprint from our dining out is reduced, and we become more circular community when we consume locally produced food.
Hospitality businesses that take part in this campaign have a sign in their window. They also provide customers with a specialty menu listing their dishes made from local produce.
Through the month, the chefs participating in our campaign will be giving us cooking tips, sharing their favourite recipes from local produce and telling us about the journey that food takes before appearing on our plates - so keep and eye on our social media not to miss them!
