  • Thurso Precinct Street 1 Rotterdam Street Thurso, Scotland, KW14 8AA United Kingdom (map)

Thurso Community Development Trust, as a member of Highland Community Waste Partnership, are organizing Circular Caithness Fair to support and promote circular economy of Caithness.

We have invited our local businesses and individuals who support our local economy by manufacturing their bespoke locally made products or providing unique services, exercise principles of circularity and localism, provide sharing and repairing services, to take part in our Fair!

The aim of this fair is to showcase and celebrate our local businesses which provide our community with their unique locally made products, support our local economy and generate jobs, and help us to be more sustainable and less wasteful by means of repairing and sharing various goods and items.

By organizing this event, we wish to emphasize how important it is for all of us to shop locally, support each other’s businesses, consume responsibly and waste less.

The fair shall take place in Thurso precinct street on Saturday, the 21st of September, from 12pm to 3pm.

There will be entertainment programme during the Fair, with contests, music and ceilidh.

What is circularity?

Circular economy is a system where materials never become waste and nature is regenerated. In a circular economy, products and materials are kept in circulation through processes like maintenance, reuse, refurbishment, remanufacture, recycling, and composting. It aims to bend industry back into harmony with nature, so that we can continue to prosper.

Its practices optimize resource use and minimize waste across the entire production and consumption cycle, emphasizing sustainability and economic efficiency.
